A wedding cake is made up of multiple
tiers of individual cakes stacked one on
top of the other. The bottom tier is
usually the largest in diameter with each
consecutive tier getting smaller from
bottom to top. The most traditional shape is round, but many other shapes are now becoming
popular, like the petal shaped bottom tier shown here. Each tier can be
covered in a variety of frostings and, if requested, a layer of Fondant as well.
