Picture Perfect 30th Anniversary Cake

30th anniversary cakeThis anniversary cake was for my Auntie and Uncle’s 30th anniversary. I was always very close with them growing up so I was so happy to be able to celebrate their anniversary with them. They had eloped in Hawaii so our family threw them a surprise Luau in the park. Since they are big coffee drinkers and lovers of chocolate I made a chocolate cake with a mocha ganache. I decorated the cake using a new technique were two layers of fondant are applied to the cake and then shapes are cut out of the top layer showing the color of the layer underneath. To top it off an edible image from their wedding photo was added.

I soon rediscovered my passion for baking and cake decorating. I would always bring back new ingredients and ideas from the places I visited and incorporate them into my cake recipes. Read More…
