Bat Mitzvah Cake with a 60s Spin

60sv themed Bat Mitzvah Cake

When I met Sabrina and found out she is a huge Beatles fan like me I was not surprised when she wanted a hippie/60’s theme for her Bat Mitzvah cake. The cake was frosted in a rich chocolate buttercream so that the brightly colored decorations would stand out well.

The sides of the cake are decorated with symbols for Peace, Love, and Chai (or “hai”) which is the Hebrew symbol for life, all hand made out of brightly colored fondant. Small fondant peace signs, hearts and flowers adorn the rest of the cake.

The quote was inspired by “No day but today” from Rent, one of Sabrina’s favorite Broadway shows, but her mom put a little special spin on it for her daughter. Mazel Tov Sabrina!

When we first met with Jennifer to discuss Sabrina’s cake we knew we were not going anywhere else! Jennifer was great to work with!! The cake was absolutely beautiful as you can see from the picture. I would not order from anyone else in the future should I need a cake. Not only was the cake decorated perfectly, but it was absolutely delicious. Every special occasion deserves a special cake.

Hi, I’m Jen

After graduating from college in 2003 I went to work as a Chemical Engineer. My new job gave me the chance to travel the world and experience many foods and cultures I had never known before. I soon rediscovered my passion for baking and cake decorating. I would always bring back new ingredients and ideas from the places I visited and incorporate them into my cake recipes. Read More…
