Back To School Cake

I made this back to school cake as a display for the Farmer’s Market. I covered an 8 inch square in black fondant. I framed out the top with a brown wood grain color to look like a chalk board including a fondant piece of chalk. I made a yellow fondant band around the bottom and used an edible marker to draw lines like a ruler. Little red fondant apples around the sides finished it off.
